i used to love watching chef K Paul's cooking show on public television so when we were in New Onrleans we looked up his restaurant to try out his french creole cuisine

well... i ordered turtle soup for apertizer and duck and shrimp dulac for the main course, the soup had so much sherry in it that all i could taste was the sherry and it gave me a little buzz hehe , the duck and shrimp dulac was served with mushroom sauce on rice and vegetable, the sauce was too salty that it overwhemed the taste of the duck, the shrimp was fresh, but of course New Orleans is right by the Mississipi river, i must say that i was disappointed, i know that chef K Paul did not cook the food himself but still for the price it could have been alot better, i give the K Paul's Louisinana Kitchen 2½ points out of posible 5

this is the famous bourbon street where they have Mardi Gras every year in New Orleans, you know that's when all the crazy college girls get drunk and show their boobs hehe , the street was very dirty and smelled of sewage, the heat did not make it any better either ...

this picture was taken on a tuesday night so just imagine the crowd on the weekends, there are nothing but clubs, oyster bars, bead shops and strip joints, one of the neon signs on the right says "live acts" where you can see people actually have sex on stage, no we didn't go in hehe, but they had pictures of the show outside, this is debauchery at its worst... or best depending on your taste

Hey fish,
Nice pictures. I used to live in LA and had visited New Orleans several times, especially during Mardi Gras. Many crazy naked people run around, hihihihi.. Hope you did not miss the chance to see the biggest dome - Super dome and of course the long long and very long bridge.
Some of the best cajun food to try is from the mom and pop restaurant, excellent and authentic cajun food, just don't ask what's in the food then you will enjoy the food much better.

yeah they have great seafood there in NO, the soft shell crabs were awsome, and every restaurant has a different version of gumbo, somtimes i wondered what they put in the gumbo besides the obvious rice, shrimp and crab, there were things that were not recognizable heheh
we did go over a very long bridge but i don't know if it's the same one you are talking about sparticus, the cab driver did point out the super dome for us, too bad it wasn't football season
